At Quimbaya Latin America we are convinced that tourism is and should be an active force for the positive development of host countries.

As inbound tour operators with 38 years of presence in 11 Latin American countries, we have always been fully committed to offering visitors authentic experiences, built with strategic allies and based on the deep knowledge we have of our destinations; knowledge acquired thanks to our solid local implementation during all these years in each destination.

The experiences we offer are designed first and foremost with a deep respect for the cultural diversity of both our passengers and our countries and for the natural environment in which they take place.

By valuing and respecting the people and nature of our countries, we have generated and will continue to generate real benefits for all.

Our sustainability and social responsibility policy is present in our day-to-day business and guides our relationships, our processes and every decision we make every day, at all levels and in all fields.

Guiding Principles:

Sustainable Human Development

The tourism we practice enhances and strengthens people’s talents. It favors economic growth and social equity of the communities and contributes to the conservation of the environment.
With these objectives we have worked with several communities in various countries, especially in Ecuador and Panama where we have developed pilot programs with the Community of La Calera, Tolte and Bacpanzel, with the Amauta Association in the Amazon in Ecuador and with the Embera community of Ipetí, in Panama.

2. Integral Sustainability

Our vision of tourism has always been a long-term vision and our 38 years of existence prove it.

The preservation of our natural and cultural heritage is our priority. We embrace our mission and our duty to leave a legacy of value to future generations.
Concrete actions:

We interact with local communities and seek to make known the traditions and particularities of the culture of each of our countries.

We offer visits to the national parks of each country limiting the ecological impact.

Our passengers enjoy the sustainable gastronomy of each region and learn about our resources and culinary traditions.

4. Alternative and Inclusive Tourism

We create ecotourism experiences, rural tourism, soft adventure and measure accessibility for people with disabilities.
Among them: easily accessible trails, multi-sensory experiences, selection of hotels that favor inclusive tourism in all Latin American countries.

  • Ongoing staff training and local employment with a focus on sustainable practices.
  • Evaluation and prioritization of suppliers with certifications or responsible practices.
  • Progressive elimination of single-use plastics and promotion of the use of reusable bottles.
  • Measurement of carbon footprint in itineraries and offices; compensation actions in communities and environmental projects.
  • Traveler education on sustainability before, during and after the trip, in collaboration with our guides and local teams.

Our Commitment

Our company is 100% committed to the transparent sustainability policy we have designed.

Each year, our Responsible, Sustainable and Sustainable Tourism Department will verify the application of this policy following international tourism sustainability standards.

Subsequently, a report will be issued with the results in each country.

Our principles are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDGs 1, 2, 4, 8, 10, 12 and 17.
