Please note that there are certain days when certain services are available. Trains operate on certain days, markets are
held on Sundays only, and museums are closed on Mondays, with the exception of the National Museum of Archaeology
in Lima, which is open from Monday to Sunday. We kindly request that you adhere to the suggested day of arrival as
indicated in our programs.

Lima is the capital of Peru and with a population of about 10 million, it is the fifth largest city in South America. The city was
founded on January 18, 1535 by conquistador Francisco Pizarro under the name "City of Kings" and is the commercial,
financial, cultural and political heart of the country. Two-thirds of the national industry is concentrated here and the country's
largest airport is located. The city's colonial center was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991.

Visit to Lima Cathedral, built in 1625 and rebuilt in 1940 after a major earthquake struck the capital. Continuation to visit
the Convent of San Francisco, a fine example of colonial architecture with its cloister adorned with colorful Seville tiles
and frescoes depicting the life of St. Francis of Assisi. The convent is also known for its fabulous library, among the oldest
in South America, and the catacombs where the bones of thousands of people who died during the years of Spanish
colonization are found.

Departure to the Sacred Valley. Departure for Pisac and visit to its artisan market to appreciate the great variety of products of Andean culture: colorful ponchos, alpaca wool sweaters and blankets, ceramic objects and much more. Afterwards, panoramic visit to the Maras Salt Mines located at the foot of a mountain and divided into numerous pools that receive salt water from underground. This salt mine is one of the oldest in Peru; it is known that it was exploited before the Incas arrived in the region Lunch included in a local restaurant Depart for Ollantaytambo to visit the impressive archaeological site. Pachacutec, one of the most representative protagonists of the Inca era, conquered the region and built the village and a large ceremonial center that served as a fort for resistance during the era of the Spanish conquest. Transfer to Ollantaytambo train station and departure for Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) by Expedition train. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel.
NOTE: During the rainy season (late November to early April) you will replace the visit to Maras with a visit to Moray: visit to the village and archaeological site of Moray, formed by a system of Inca terraces built in the shape of an amphitheater. Picturesque colonial-style rural houses will also be appreciated.

Very early in the morning,take the shuttle bus from Aguas calientes to reach the site of Machu Picchu (2490 m) in about 30
minutes.
Visit the majestic ruins of "the lost city of the Incas, "* discovered in 1911 by American anthropologist Hiram Bingham. The
ruins are located on top of Machu Picchu (old mountain in Quechua), at the foot of Huayna Picchu (young mountain),
surrounded by the Urubamba and Vilcanota rivers. The complex is divided into two large areas: the agricultural zone, formed
by typical Inca terraces that lies to the south, and the urban zone to the north, which was the area dedicated to daily, civil
and religious activities.

Return to Aguas Calientes and depart by train to Poroy station, continue to Cusco and check into the hotel.

Visit to ruins outside the city: the amphitheater of Qenqo, a center of worship to Pachamama (Mother Earth in Quechua);
Tambomachay, known as the "Bath of the Inca," a center dedicated to water worship. Last stop at Sacsayhuaman, still
the subject of archaeological studies. This site covers an area of 6 km2 and it is thought it could have been a multipurpose
center on par with Machu Picchu.
Visit to the city of Cusco. The Plaza de Armas, where, according to legend, Inca Manco Capac's golden staff was thrust,
indicating to him the exact spot where he would found the city that would become the capital of the Empire; the quaint San
Blas district where colonial-era buildings were built on the foundations of Inca palaces and where the city's most important
artisans and antique dealers are located.
Visit to Korikancha, the holiest religious center of Inca times dedicated to the worship of the Sun god and on which, after
the arrival of the Spaniards, the Santo Domingo Convent was built.
Visit to the great Cathedral, erected in the 16th century on the foundations of the Inca Palace of Wiracocha.
At the end of the tours, your guide will take you to discover the bustling San Pedro market.This market is definitely worth a
visit, both for its architectural structure ( the construction was supervised by Gustav Eiffel....the same as the Tower!), its
vibrancy and colors, and the interesting products that can be found at great prices. From the freshest juices to tortillas and
other typical Andean products, from handicrafts to coca leaves and llama fetuses for thanksgiving ceremonies to the land....

Departure to the city of Puno. The beauty of the landscape is unique, passing from the Andes to the high plateau and
passing through many quaint villages. The highest point you cross is La Raya (4312 m), which marks the boundary between
the Andean and highland areas.
Visit the famous Chullpas of Sillustani, (starting at base 6) circular tombs of pre-Inca origin also used by the Incas. In each
of these burial towers up to 25 mummified bodies have been found in the fetal position and accompanied by offerings such
as food, jewelry, and work tools that might have served the deceased for their afterlife. The site is located at about 4,000
m.a.s.l. in a landscape dominated by the mountains surrounding Umayo Lake.

En route the bus will make stops to visit Pucara; Raqchi where it will be possible to see ancient Huari ruins and the beautiful temple of Huiracocha; and the last stop at Andahuaylillas, where the impressive chapel known as "the little sistine" is located. Arrive in the evening in Puno, the ancient capital of the Inca empire, whose name in the Quechua language means "the navel of the world."

Depart for Desaguadero on the border with Bolivia and assistance with customs formalities.
Depart for Tiwanaku, the most important archaeological site in Bolivia, now a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. Arrival
and visit to the regional museum that houses a collection corresponding to different periods. Continue with a tour of the site
where you can see the most outstanding buildings such as the Akapana pyramid, built with 7 overlapping terraces. The
Kalasasaya temple, inside which you can see the famous "Puerta del Sol" and monoliths representing indigenous priests.
The Semi-subterranean temple, with its courtyard almost two meters below the normal ground level, with sculptures of heads
embedded on its walls.

Continue by vehicle to Copacabana. Arrive and visit the Main Square and its old colonial church, which houses the "Virgen
Morena" (the Brown Madonna), patron saint of Bolivians.
Copacabana is a lively locality where it is possible to come into contact with the local indigenous community and where you
can see the "cholitas" in their colorful clothes, displaying their wares: from fruits and vegetables to meat and alpaca products.

We board a motor boat and depart for Sun Island, an enchanting and mystical place, highly renowned because it was an
important ceremonial center on Lake Titicaca: here developed among the most advanced cultures in South America such
as the Chiripa in 1200 BC, the Tiwanaku civilization around 1000 BC. And finally The Inca civilization that was the last before
the arrival of the Spaniards.

Return to Copacabana and departure for La Paz.

Arrival and transfer to downtown. Visit to the official and constitutional capital of Bolivia, a city rich in colonial remains,
considered among the most attractive in Latin America, and now a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. Visit to the ASUR
textile museum, which displays an exhibition of indigenous textiles. The Recoleta viewpoint overlooking the entire city. Next,
the Main Square where you can admire the facade of the cathedral, the Prefecture, City Hall, and the "Casa de la Libertad"
where Bolivia's Independence was declared.
Continue to Bolivar Park, where the Palace of Justice is located. A walk over the rooftops of the San Felipe Neri Convent to
enjoy an impressive view of the city.

Discovery of the "Villa Imperial de Carlos V," the first Bolivian city classified as a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural
Heritage Site, whose history and splendor are closely linked to silver. Visit to the historic "Real Casa de la Moneda" or Old
Mint, one of the prized monuments of Hispanic America, and where natives and African slaves minted coins with silver
extracted from the famous Cerro Rico, during Spanish rule. Continue with a walk through the Main Square and streets to
admire the facades of the churches of San Lorenzo and San Francisco.
In the early afternoon depart in a southwesterly direction to Uyuni.( about 3h30 travel time) During the course of the trip you
will encounter isolated villages built of earth bricks and thatch. The landscape changes constantly, alternating between flat
stretches where hundreds of Andean camelids swarm, and valleys on whose slopes nature has indulged in inserting rocks
and lands of a thousand hues, as in an immense, primordial palette of colors.
The journey continues to the village of Colchani, whose inhabitants are dedicated to the mining and processing of salt, which
they supply to the entire country.

Visit to the Train Cemetery on the outskirts of the village.
Excursion to the Salar de Uyuni* considered as the world's largest salt desert (about 10,000 sq. km). Crossing this
immense salt desert always remains an unforgettable experience and one of the most exciting stops of the trip, the Salar
resembles a large ice rink.
The route leads to Incahuasi Island (formerly misnamed Del Pescado), located in the heart of the Salar and populated by
giant cacti. From the top there is an impressive view of the surrounding area.
Lunch in the middle of the Salar. Exclusively for Quimbaya passengers, a special lunch will be set up and served
in the middle of the salar.
Return to Uyuni.

Arrival and transfer to downtown. Start of discovery of the city of "Nuestra Señora de La Paz," Seat of Government of Bolivia.
Walk through the "Plaza Murillo," the old Plaza d'Armi or Major Square, where you see the Congress, the Presidential Palace
and the Cathedral. Then on to the "Witches' Market" where all those items used for local medicine are sold. At the end
descend to the Church of St. Francis, a jewel of mestiza baroque art, whose facade is decorated with indigenous motifs.
You will descend to the Valley of the Moon, located 12 km from the center of La Paz, and whose name is due to the lunar
appearance it has taken on as a result of wind and water erosion of the fragile sedimentary formations that form a kind of
stalagmites.
You will get to appreciate a ride on the incredible La Paz Cable Car, a unique view of one of the most beautiful cities in
South America. You will notice how this cable car in La Paz is used by locals instead of the subway.
