The old colonial town of Querétaro is unusual in having retained the geometric street plan of the Spanish conquerors side by side with the twisting alleys of the Indian quarters. The Otomi, the Tarasco, the Chichimeca and the Spanish lived together peacefully in the town, which is notable for the many ornate civil and religious Baroque monuments from its golden age in the 17th and 18th centuries.
The Palacio de la Corregidora is a building and historical monument of the center of Santiago de Querétaro built in the 18th century, which was used as “Casa Real” and Jails. Since 1981 it is the Government Palace of Querétaro, seat of the Executive Power of the State of Querétaro, Mexico.

Visit of the Zocalo of San Miguel de Allende. The guided tour includes the main attractions of the city such as the symbolic parish of San Miguel Arcángel, date back to the 17th century, but the facade itself was completely rebuilt in 1880 by Zeferino Gutiérrez, who was inspired by the cathedrals of Europe. This created an impressive neo-gothic style, making this Parish one of the most photographed Cathedrals in all of México. We can also appreciate the Temple of San Francisco. The construction of this church took 20 years to be complete, reflected in different architectural styles that adorns the facade, with Spanish Baroque influence. The Neoclassic bell tower, however, was built in 1799.
Constructed in 1712, the Oratorio de San Felipe Neri is built on the site of an old chapel. It is a very interesting building because of its incredibly ornate decor that includes both golden walls and altars.
Departure to Guanajuato. Guanajuato is in central Mexico. It’s between the arid north of the country and the lusher south, and it is geographically part of the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt, the Mexican Plateau. It was initially settled by the Spanish in the 1520s due to mineral deposits found around the now capital city of Guanajuato, but areas such as the Bajío region also became important for agriculture and livestock. Mining and agriculture have been the traditional mainstays of the state’s economy.
