Air – Please make reservations on international flights arriving in the afternoon of day 1 and leaving in the evening of day 5. We advise you to book them on the company IBERIA, via Madrid, but it is possible to use American companies taking into account the specific formalities for entry into the United States (ESTA form to be completed individually and electronic passport).
Formalities – For the European residents, a passport valid up to six months after the return date.
Health – No obligatory vaccines. However, an antimalarial treatment is recommended.
Climate – Tropical all over the country excepting the mountain regions where the climate is temperate. Normally, a dry season from December to April and a rainy season from May to November.
Others – Avoid changing currency at the airport / Euros are not accepted/ Provide long pants for the steps / Provide binoculars and camera

At the airport Welcome by our English-speaking guide and transfer to your hotel.
Afterwards you will cross the city by bus in a Panoramic City Tour to listen your guide’s explanations of your about the history of San Jose and its main buildings, such as the National Theatre and the Metropolitan Cathedral.
Dinner at the Ram Luna restaurant, lovely place with spectacular views of the city.

Afterwards departure to the Poás Volcano National Park with your private English speaking guide. This park has the biggest crater in the country, considered one of the biggest in the world, with 2 km in diameter and continuous fumaroles. The visit continues with a walk to the Botos lagoon, a magnificent lagoon with a greenish blue color, which fills an inactive crater, the extinct former crater. Active volcano with constant fumaroles, geyser crater, one of the biggest in the world, Botos lagoon, National Park trails, accessible for everybody. Then, visit the wonderful waterfalls of “La Paz” they have spectacular views. You can visit before lunch the aviary, the monkey exhibition, the frog pond, walk around the butterfly garden and see the hummingbirds roaming freely, impressive birds that can only be seen in America. Finally you will visit the serpentarium and the feline exhibition.

Return to the hotel and changing into more formal clothing so you will arrive to Culture Square for a visit to the Gold Museum. The Museum’s building, unique for its construction on concrete, is located in front of the National Theatre and is shaped like an inversed pyramid, built under the Culture Square with gates resembling those at a bank’s vault. Gala dinner with a gourmet catering and formal tables in the halls of the Gold Museum, reserved exclusively for the group to end this private and exclusive night. Price of a reproduction of a Pre-Columbian jewel for all the participants: “the fertility frog”, for men a bracelet, for women earrings.

Afterwards, depart to Herradura Beach in your private bus with your guide.
On your way to Herradura you will visit Carara National Park.
This park is known as one of the prettiest parks of Costa Rica.
This park is unique since the Amazonia (ecosystem of primary forest) and the Middle American ecosystem converge here to form an ecologically extraordinary reserve, where the dry climate of the pacific north and the dampness of the south coast unite.
During the journey, there will be a time stop to rest and admire the beautiful scenery and the red macaws flying up high.
Lunch at a local restaurant in Tarcoles.
After lunch, enjoy the journey in a private bus towards the Tarcoles River. Arrival to the dock to take a boat: the Safari Boat to go looking for crocodiles in the Tarcoles River.
Enjoy this boat trip to see crocodiles in their natural habitat (American crocodiles with sizes over 4 meters long), birds and other animals (armadillos, sloths, jaguars, etc.).
The group must be split in several private boats to navigate the river and get to watch from close these incredibly big crocodiles.
At the scheduled hour your private bus will take the group to Herradura Beach. Check- in at the hotel.

Departure with your private guide on a catamaran cruise to a beautiful and desert island, the Tortuga Island. You will live an incredible experience on this island paradise, with its charming beauty of the turquoise waters and white sandy beaches.
You will enjoy a delicious pic-nic lunch under the green palms of this tropical paradise. You will also have time to relax and return to see the Pacific Ocean beautiful sunset. The catamaran has a capacity for 100 people and will be privatized for the comfort of the 85 participants group.
After some free time to enjoy the beach, after a relaxing time return to the hotel.
