Arrival in San José. Welcome on arrival by your English-speaking guide and transfer to the hotel.

Early departure to Guápiles, in the Tortuguero region. Breakfast on the way.
Arrival at Caño Blanco/La Pavona, and boarding a large, motorized canoe (collective service, flat-bottomed boat) to go up the main canal which runs along the coast to the Tortuguero National Park in the heart of the tropical forest.
Lunch at the lodge
During the afternoon, walk in the typical village of the Caribbean coast. Return to the hotel via the beach, where turtles come to lay their eggs between June and September. During this period, access to the beach is prohibited to protect the animals.

Breakfast in hotel
Departure by motorized boat for a visit to the jungle canals of the Tortuguero National Park where you can meet many animals including crocodiles, turtles, sloths, monkeys, iguanas, toucans, parrots and birds of all species. Discovery of the jungle using marked trails where possible, accompanied by your guide. This national park will offer you a discovery of the primary forest, with its lush and overflowing vegetation worthy of the Amazon.
Return to the lodge for lunch.
During the months of October and November, it is birthing season in Tortuguero. Without a doubt the most exciting season of the year. You will be fascinated by the discovery of these tiny turtles emerging from the sand. Around 4:30 p.m., you will go with your guide to the beach to discover the birth of hundreds of baby turtles.

Return by boat to Caño Blanco/Pavona.
Lunch and then drive to the northwest of the country for a meeting with a heart of palm farmer. She runs the production of heart of palm and pejibaye (palm fruit) on her small farm with her daughters. Discover this plantation in the company of the owner, who will explain how this fruit is grown. Enjoy an extraordinary tasting based on heart of palm.
Continue to the town of La Fortuna, located at the foot of the Arenal volcano, an emblematic image of Costa Rica with its perfect conical shape

Meet a Costa Rican family to better understand their way of life and their traditions, you will also help prepare the meal. Demonstration of the use of a “trapiche”, a mill which crushes and extracts sugar cane juice in the traditional way.

Road to the Guanacaste region, one of the hottest tropical plains in the country. This region is known for cattle breeding. Guanacaste is the westernmost region of Costa Rica, a beautiful dry, arid region that is home to the bustling Rincón de la Vieja National Park. It is an essential stopover in the country.

Depending on the hotel, you will have the opportunity to enjoy mineral-rich thermal waters, renowned for their rejuvenating and therapeutic properties. These hot springs are naturally heated by the Rincón de la Vieja volcano, the largest and most active in Guanacaste. Also, enjoy the benefits of volcanic mud baths.

Early departure to visit the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano National Park. Walk in the vast expanse of the park, a rare geological splendor of our planet. The earth opens into bubbling craters which bear witness to the current activity of the volcano. The very contrasting landscape includes a thick tropical forest populated by howler monkeys and rich in exuberant vegetation where the “guaria morada”, the national flower of Costa Rica, nestles.

Road to one of the largest plantations in the country, located on the slopes of the Poas Volcano. During this visit, you will discover the different stages of coffee production, from the plant to the cup. You will first visit the plantation, where your guide will give you explanations about growing and caring for coffee plants, as well as the picking process. You will then head towards the plantation's small factory, the place where the magic happens! The coffee beans just picked from the plant will be processed there until the final product is obtained. You will end the visit with a tasting of different coffees (with Spanish guide and English translator). Lunch not included.
Depending on the return flight schedule, transfer to the airport and return flight to United States.
